Locations
Explore GTA 6 locations across Vice City and the Leonida state—counties, areas, and landmarks with images and details.
Grand Theft Auto VI drops players into the State of Leonida — Rockstar Games' sprawling, fictional reimagining of modern Florida. While neon-soaked Vice City (the series' beloved Miami stand-in) steals the spotlight, Leonida is a full open-world state: sun-baked island keys, primordial swampland, a forgotten Gulf coastline, sugar-farm countryside, and a forested national park up north. Rockstar has released official descriptive copy for six key areas of the state, and that marketing language is the most reliable frame we have for understanding the map.
The county grid
This is where the evidence tiers matter most. Seen in official footage (names confirmed, roles inferred):- Vice-Dale County has the strongest case – a county sheriff/police seal reading "Vice-Dale County" appears during the in-game Mega Noticias newscast in Trailer 2, and county-road signage recurs in official footage.
- Kelly County – the name is read off street/road signage in official footage.
- Leonard County – the name appears on a police vehicle in an in-game fictional social-media post shown by Rockstar.
| County | Position | Florida Inspiration | Anchor(s) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vice-Dale | South-east | Miami-Dade | Vice City |
| Leonard | East / north-east | Broward | Waning Sands |
| Ambrosia | North | Hendry | Ambrosia town, Lake Leonida |
| Kelly | North-west | Collier / Panhandle blend | Port Gellhorn |
| Mariana | South-west | Monroe | Leonida Keys, Grassrivers |
The mapping is deliberately imperfect: real Monroe County is the Keys and Everglades, which fits Mariana well, but Kelly is a composite. Rockstar compresses and rotates real geography rather than copying it.
